Generating Social Impact Through Filming

The ENACTING project aims to highlight the challenges, at local level, faced by less privileged communities in 5 European cities (Dresden, Athens, Marseille, Florence and Larissa) and to support the voice of those who are not equally represented in the public discourse, through a coherent methodology for developing social documentaries.
Due to the current pandemic of Covid-19 there is an aggravated and unprecedented crisis, impacting education and Cultural and Creative Sectors. There are urban areas that present high levels of cultural heterogeneity and social inequality. The ENACTING project is a social rooted project and a result of collaboration between Jugend-& Kulturprojekt e.V. (Dresden, Germany), ReadLab (Athens, Greece) and three ROOTS&ROUTES INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION members: Synergy of Music Theatre (Larissa, Greece), Centro di Creazione e Cultura (Florence, Italy) and Les Tetes de l’Art (Marseille, France).

The ENACTING project aims, to develop a method of civic engagement based on the use of video documentaries. The project aims to provide not only an online training course on how to record a social documentary, but also offer a concrete methodology to identify social challenges in local contexts promoting active citizenship and participation, social inclusion, intercommunity, and intercultural dialogue for local communities such as youth workers, trainers, and their organizations, migrants, disabled people, artists, local and national stakeholders, public and policy makers.

It is co-funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ KA227 “Partnerships for Creativity” programme.
