The ROOTS & ROUTES Academy is an international training programme running in France, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands and The United Kingdom for a selected group of coaches and talents who have the ambition to optimize their coaching skills and/or to work as a professional art coaches.
The ROOTS & ROUTES Academy is organised on two levels:

  • Train-the-coaches: Coaches that have worked at previous ROOTS & ROUTES projects will be trained in order to optimize their coaching skills
  • Training of junior coaches: Participants of previous ROOTS & ROUTES projects will be educated in coaching other young people

The ROOTS & ROUTES Academy aims at developing new training methods, competence sets and skills for coaches and in non-formal training situations. The ROOTS & ROUTES Academy training program will also be directed at regular art school teachers so that they become better equipped to deal with a new type of student that requires a new type of education.

The ROOTS&ROUTES Academy was funded by the EU programme LEONARDO DA VINCI from 2008 to 2010 and coordinated by Stichting ROOTS & ROUTES, The Netherlands. In Germany, with additional funding from Aktion Mensch foundation, the project ran until 2012.
