Streetdance Center Salzburg (SDC) is a non-profit association which was founded in 1999 in order to promote diversity conscious youth work via dance, to create a platform that unites people from various generations and backgrounds, and to elevate and empower young people to pursue and share their passion for dance and music.
SDC promotes a selection of dances from the Afro-American diaspora (Hip-Hop, House, Breaking, Locking, Popping, Waacking) which were created as social dances in the USA between 1970 and 1990. 300 students in Salzburg city and countryside regularly
take classes that are organized and held by SDC and its network of teachers. Many of our team members are active in youth and cultural work in the fields of dance, music and theater. SDC regularly (co-)organises exchange and residency programs with partner organizations in order to elevate the local
dance scene. In the last years, SDC has become part of different European networks of youth work associations and has sent talents to international exchange projects.

Streetdance Center Salzburg is dedicated to promote positive change, inclusion and diversity through active participation and engagement of young talents in dance and performing arts. SDC focuses on the empowerment of
young people and offers classes, educational trainee workshops, individual coaching, preparation for competitions and entrance exams at dance/performing arts academies. SDC cooperates with local youth centers, schools, further education programs, local, national and international organizations active in youth and cultural work.
