Bijou is a 23-year old pianist and saxophonist. She plays the piano for 18 years and the saxophone for 4 years. During her musical career, she participated in a lot of events like the Gergiev Festival (saxophone) and the Prins Alexander Festival (piano). She also participated in several Jammsessions (like R'voices, Oorwarmers and Your Space-Your World) and other musical events. Nowadays Bijou is improving her pianoskills at the Jazzschool of the Rotterdam School of Art. But Bijou is not only a musical talent: at the moment she's finishing her studies Public Administration and Human Resource Management at the University of Utrecht!
Her goal is to become a succesful session musician, where she can collaborate with other talents. What makes Bijou distinctive is that she plays all kinds of music: Jazz, (Roll out your) Soul, Pop, Rock, Classical Music, Bossa Nova, R&B, Reggae and Worldmusic (like Bollywood and Turkish Music).
