I am Dyslexic Deborah 'Debris'
Stevenson and I have been writing and performing my poems across the world for the past four years, from the main stage of The Roundhouse, England to The Shanghai school of Art, China.
In 2008 my poetic journey was followed by Channel4 for a year, as part of Yeardot (www.yeardot.co.uk)
this journey culminated in Turning Point Festival 08, which I hosted in front of 3,000 people. I teach across England, and am a guest workshop facilitator at The University of Nottingham and The University of Oxford. I have also been published in a bespoke book by Louis Vuitton
with tailored illustrations by ,Turner Prize winning artist, Chris Ofili.
I am currently working on a commission for BBC Radio 3, and developing a research project for an American Scholarship. I am also running my own program at Nottingham Playhouse called Mouthy Poets which presents the creative industry as a whole, teaching writing and performance skills alongside event coordination and management.
I have worked with visual arts, journalist, producers, film makers, African drummers, jazz bands and actors...basically I am up for all sorts of collaboration, so do not hesitate to get in touch.
