Jeromos was born and raised in Reunion Island where so many different ethnicities live all together. He wandered in Europe since 2000 and still keeps on moving... Paris, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest...
In Europe, he changed his musical approach (after many years of classical music) and started to improvise more and more. Meeting people from very different backgrounds he started to adapt his techniques to converse with other musicians (american folk, blues, world music, etc.).
Playing with various bands in many styles, he likes to jump from one world to another.
25 young dancers and musicians present a live performance where different artistic languages and styles, from jazz to hip hop, from modern to pop, come together in an expressive melting pot that plays with the form of the musical suite.
Summer Suite is the work-show concluding the Summer School Application Forms (25/06-09/07/2011), two intense weeks of creative workshops and of interdisciplinary research between dance and music, starting from a shared elaboration of the original music score.
Next to the young artists of the Florentine territory, the presence of more experienced musicians and of peer coaches from the European network Roots&Routes, will enlarge the confrontation to the Summer Schools taking place in Greece, Spain and Hungary for Roots&Routes Follow-up: an action-research project addressing non-formal and informal learning in artistic contexts in Europe, coordinated by the University of Barcelona and supported by the Lifelong Learning programme of the European Union.
