ROOTS & ROUTES Cologne e. V., the newly founded German partner in the ROOTS & ROUTES Network, just finished their first project: The international exchange “Music and Media for an Open Europe” (#MaMOE14), bringing together 50+ young artists from 8+ countries on the Northsea island Baltrum. Project results were presented to the public at Motoki Collective Cologne on November 20th, 2014.
The MaMOE14 project started with a masterclass by the great Brazilian soul/funk musician Ed Motta at Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld in Cologne on November 5th, 2014. From there, the group travelled to Baltrum by bus and ferry. During two weeks, several movies, music pieces and small performances on the topic of Open Europe vs. Fortress Europe were developed in small, internationally mixed creation groups. In the end, the project results were presented in Cologne and published on Youtube, check the video playlist below.

MaMOE14 was funded by the EU programme ERASMUS+; international partners included Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (CYE018/KOM018) from Nis/Serbia and ROOTS & ROUTES network members Synergy of Music Theatre (SMouTh) from Larisa/Greece, Centro di Creazione e Cultura (CCC) from Florence/Italy, Associació Rutes i Origens (RiO) from Barcelona/Spain, Rock in Faches (RiF) from Lille/France, Stichting ROOTS & ROUTES (RRNL) from Rotterdam/Netherlands and Brouhaha International from Liverpool/UK.
