Young artists from previous Roots&Routes projects were chosen to develop longterm intercultural collaborations and artistic productions.
At the Art’n’Go International Residency 50 european newcomer artist come together in Remscheid. During the project phase (09.-22. August) they can work intensely on their production.
This international working phase does not only give the young artist the opportunity to experience international challenges, it also gives them the chance to exchange creativ ideas and cooperations.
The goal of this project is that new music-, dance- and media productions get developed by the young european artists.
These artistic productions will be shown at several european festivals during the next 12 months.
On August 21st 2010 we will present the event ROOTS&ROUTES – ONE NIGHT AND A MILLION SOUNDS OF MIGRATION in cooperation with Step Forward and the Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld. This will be the premiere of this production. Medial art, urban music and dance will be presented by the 50 young artists through transnational performances and installations. The main focus will concentrate on the dialog between East- and Westeurope.
After a 2 week artistic residency at Remscheid Academy, the Art'n'Go project participants performed their productions. The festival "Roots&Routes – One Night and a Million Sounds of Migration" on August 21st, 2010 at Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld, Cologne was the perfect setting for the performance by the young artists from 10 European countries.
