Also available in: English | GreekThe Synergy of Music Theater (S.Mou.Th.) in collaboration with R&R international network, the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa, the Municipal Ballet School and the Niki Tiganitaki-Lytrokapi Dance School, are organizing an intensive summer school workshop for young musicians, dancers and theatre media talents between the age of 15 and 30.
The R&R summer academy aims to join the “traditional” artistic educational forms and urban figures of expression in order to create an alternative dynamic innovative educational platform.
To accomplish this goal, S.Mou.Th. will collaborate with distinguished recognized educational institutes. Those collaborations will be substantial as the experienced educational crew and the spirited young talents that will gather, will not only highly contribute in the creation of a new educational and creative system, but will also benefit from the expansion of the international R&R network.

R&R “Follow-Up” Summer Academy
The project "Roots&Routes Follow-Up" is a direct result of interviews with young artists who have taken part in Roots & Routes projects since 2001 in the Netherlands and the experiences of the other partners in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Hungary, UK and Finland. Based on the outcomes of this research, there was a seminar in which both youngsters and teachers from art school participated, and where it was decided to start experimental training courses for the most motivated talents who took part in the local talent scouting projects.
“Roots&Routes Follow-up” is based on a previous Leonardo pilot project 'Roots&Routes Summercourses” and its innovative practice, and will further develop training modules, follow-up and assessment methods, necessary competencies, and certification criteria in the field of the performing arts, on transnational level. With 'Roots&Routes Follow-up' we intend to adapt the outcomes of the R&R Summercourses to different socio-cultural contexts (South and East Europe), and build further on the experiences and outcomes achieved.
In four countries, national training courses will take place where motivated talents will follow training modules in diverse new music and dance languages, theory and practice of the entertainment business and audio-visual media technique. The talents will also perform on national festivals and stages.
The Summer Academy is an action of the “Follow-Up” project that is organized by members of the R&R network in Greece, Italy, Spain and Hungary. The project is supported by the EU Leonardo da Vinci initiative.

2010 Larissa, Summer Academy
Talents who participated in the Greek Summer Academy, using the keywords consciousness, manipulation, team vs unit and urban landscapes, presented their creations on the final day of the workshops, on September 10th, at the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa, in a performance titled "Urban Utopias" .
